Hi,

So, I just took my Step 1 exam today and dont feel good about it. I wasnt feeling well the night before and during the exam (only got 2hrs sleep). As a result, I was slower mentally and kept running out of time in each section (On average I wasn't getting to the last 4-5 questions/block and ended up filling in C's).

While its a standardized test, I wanted to know on average, what percent correct is needed to pass the exam? Also, since I just took the exam today, is there an option still to void the test and retake it in the next couple days? Im confident on my knowledge/preparedness for the exam(I was doing well on UWorld and its SA's), I just felt like crap when I was taking the test.

Thanks

I believe first aid says 70%, not sure but that would probably be different depending on the exam curve I would guess.

As far voiding there is no way to do that. Nothing you can do about it now, except enjoy your time off and possibly pray. You can take comfort in the fact that most people feel similar after step 1, you will probably end up scoring around your NBME scores.

good luck

No one but the NBME knows the passing % for any given exam. Any number anyone or any book tells you is pure speculation.

You can't void your exam.

A lot of people feel like crap after the test, and a lot of people have to guess on some questions. There is nothing you can do about it now, so try your hardest to keep your chin up till you get your score back. Then you'll know.
