One of the dental schools i applied asked me to send my fall semester grade..i did not do too well on my fall...i just worried that they will reject me after seeing my marks (low 70s, but abt class average)..i did the interview already, but they requested my mark ..i know they will because i am an early applicant and i will not have my bachelor degree till next year..should i tell them i will improve on my second term? i just did badly on my exam ..should i ask the prof to show them i did well on the term and just bombed the exam? any advice?

Even if you apply to dental school later- you will have to send in everything. Not sending it only will prevent you from getting an interview or admitted to the school. I believe a lot of the schools request you to send in the final transcript when you enter dental school. So- I'd say.....holding back from sending or not sending will only jeopardize your chances to get into dental school.

As long as your overall GPA is okay- you will be fine. They understand that we are human...one bad semester is not the end of the world.

There is nothing you can do about those grades. As Sweeti8286 mentioned, they are on your transcript whether you like them or not and sooner or later the schools you applied to will see them. Furthermore I don't think having the professor document you performance outside of exams will be much of a benefit. Just send in the grades as the school requested and should they contact you about them then you can explain them (if that is what they want) and who knows, maybe they will be fine with them.

okay- look - just to make you feel better-- Spring 04- my worse semester ever...below a 3.0 for the semester! (I can't believe it!)

Biochemistry II 2.0 ( I was only 2 points away from that 1.5!! whew!!!!)
Quantum Chemistry 3.0
Analytical/Physical Lab 3.0
Advanced Inorganic Chemistry 3.0

Semester GPS=2.75. I had that on my transcript when I sent in the application....I still got 2 interviews! Plus- I botched a couple questions during one of my interviews! And they still let me in! There shouldn't be anything to worry about if your other semesters are better to raise your overall GPA. Some dental schools are actually interested in seeing the later semesters - seeing the grade improvements...this tells them that you are indeed putting in the effort and time to study.

You're allready in at Case, and those are some pretty ****ty classes to take senior year. You must be a chem major, i'm sure they'll understand.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I just need to send it in and work harder this term. 🙂
