Hi,
I'm fairly new to the board and nanaschool has been a great help with the feedback on my dilemna, but I am still trying to make a decision. First, let me give you a little background on myself...I am a 37 year-old nontrad student who has a undergrad degree in communications. I have taken a few basic science courses as an undergrad, and did well. I graduated with a 3.4 cum gpa. Now, because of life experiences in the medical field and extensive volunteer work ( at Mayo Clinic, in an alzheimers unit, research work etc.,) have decided to become a D.O. I don't feel (since I have not had any upper division science courses as an undergrad) that I qualify for an SMP. Any Thoughts? So, I am looking at Post-Bacc programs or simply going to the closest university here (ASU-West) and doing the pre-reqs myself. Living here in Phoenix, Az I also have the option of going to Midwestern-Glendale (ie., AZCOM) & taking science classes from their undergrad biomedical sciences program in lieu of getting into their SMP?
If you have any thoughts or suggestions on the route that I should take please let me know. I fully realize that I am at the beginning of this journey, but please excuse my naivete, because I could really use some help with this!

Thanx,
Sabrina

What classes have you taken and how have you done. Some SMPs dont require that you do advanced level coursework to be eligible, although Im sure most students have had some exposure to advanced level coursework. I suggest you email/call a few SMP directors and see what their take on it.
