I never thought I would have to come here for advice but I think I done something stupid.
Well, I am in highschool and decided to dual enroll. I dual enrolled and did not take the courses seriously because I was told by EVERYONE(which is true) that the grades I receive in dual enrollment do not count towards my College GPA at the four year university I will be attending. However, I have received a C in the dumbest and easiest class of all time(ENGLISH 102) . I also did poorly in pyschology 201 (B), okay in Biology 101(with lab/A), and okay English 101(A). Honestly, I had no idea they would ask for this course work in a transcript...such as the AMCAS.
I am not going to apply to medical school with anything below a 3.75. Can I just retake the classes in college at my four year university?
What can I do?

but wait, when I submit my degree from the four year. It will show Univ-TRANSFER 3 Credits.
It will not show the GPA, are they going to mandate that I give them the GPA for my dual enrollment classes?

Never mind, looks like I am retaking English 102 my Freshman year.

Calm down, breathe. You are over 4 years away from applying. You will survive.

When you submit the application (AMCAS), you have to input every course you have taken at the college level as well as submit transcripts from every institution. The AMCAS GPA is calculated from what you input, so yes you have to report the grades you received as dual enrollment.

A C and a B is not going to keep you out of medical school. Neither is applying with less than a 3.75. If you want to retake the C, you can, but just know that MD schools AVERAGE retakes with the old grade, so at best you'll have a B average if you get an A on the retake. DO schools do grade replacement, so if you get an A, that's what will count.

Wait. what about this
Transcript Exception Request
If you indicate that a transcript is not required, you MUST request a transcript exception on the Transcript Exception Request screen. You must select one of the options as your transcript exception reason. These are the only options allowed. Transcript exceptions granted in previous years are not valid for the current entering class. You must request an exception with each application submitted.

If you do not ask for an exception and later discover that an OT is not available, no special consideration will be granted and you may miss deadlines.
If a school has placed a financial hold on your transcripts, AMCAS will not grant an exception under any circumstances.
Exception Reason
Select an option from the list to explain why you believe AMCAS does not require a transcript.
• Canadian CEGEP/Grade 13 Program
• Current or future coursework
D " • Consortium/cross-registration program, if no separate transcript is available from the school where coursework was attempted. Only one transcript is required for schools which you attended multiple times, as long all course work appears on the same official transcript.

Look at part D, can I just say that the school failed to give me a transcript?

Looks like I ain't getting MD.

No. If no transcript exists, you're required to have that institution send the med school application service a letter stating so.

Please help me find a loop hole. Or I can just retake it.
Either is fine, I ain't having a C in a stupid course.

Stop. You're being ridiculous. You'll look back on this thread in 4 years and laugh.
Why in God's name do the care about what I did in high school? I knew I should have taken AP lit.

If it is any consolation, I took a dual credit class in high school (English) and got a B in it. Same as you, I didn't think it would count towards my college GPA, and it didnt, but it did bring down my total GPA by 0.05 points when I applied to medical school. Just accept that it has happened and get good grades from here on out!

So the best I can get now is a 3.85.....................................................................
............................................................
............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ somebody get me a gun

No I said that for me personally it lowered it 0.05 points... The amount it lowers yours will depend on the number of credit hours you take

No really:
:troll:

Let's take a moment to ponder the post in his post history where he's offering MCAT help because he's taken the MCAT 16 times.

I think we can safely recommend that people stop feeding the troll.

I will complete 120 credit hours for biological science major.

That was a joke LOL. You can't honestly tell me you thought I was serious. Why on earth would anyone take the MCAT 16 times????????? Send me the link and I will edit the post to say zero.

I read something in the forums saying"
 Assign High School (HS) status to college-level courses taken while you were in high school, regardless of the physical location of the college-level course. This does not include AP, Exempt, or CLEP credit.
"
Does this mean Medical Colleges will know which college courses I did in High school?

Never mind. You can close the thread. If they ask, I will just say english is not my first language.

It's actually not my first language. I was first taught Russian, then moved to the States.

With all my credits I have a 3.1 Right now *facepalm
4.0 Science Gpa(Bio 102+101 though)
will they care more about my science? please say yes

Yay! If I get an A in the rest of my courses(bi0) and no more than 3 More C's in non-science(aint happening). I can still get a 3.71
Too bad I ruined my college career...

Its scary how scared you are, but also very laughable. Trust me, when you enter college and face actual classes and actual struggles like o-chem, biochem micro etc.. you'll see how significant this thread really was. Just breathe and enjoy your upcoming summer break, it's probably the last good one you'll get in a long time

Because you took a college course. Seriously, it will be fine. Is this the end of your senior year? Go have fun.

Moving to hSDN
:troll: You of all people should know better.

No, I've just worked with/mentored enough naive high schoolers that this is entirely believable. Maybe they are a troll, but I prefer to give people benefit of the doubt first instead of jumping down their throat.

Thank you for helping me 🙂
