We found decreased levels of PECAM-1 expression, specifically in microvascular endothelial cells that we isolated from PAH patients. How would you determine the possible cause for the decreased protein levels? How would you characterize the functional consequences for the microvascular endothelium? Which methods would you utilize to normalize PECAM-1 expression levels in primary cell cultures from patients?
