I am us citizen and studied until my high school in India. Right out of high school, I passed our entrance test with very high qualifiying score and got admitted into a Govt Medical college in india for MBBS. For some reason I did not like the large class sizes and lack of research facilities at the undergraduate level which contributed to my decision of leaving the course after 1 year of study and decided to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor in US college. My one year worth credits got transferred to the US university. I joined One of the state schools over here to complete my undergrad and I am in my senior year now. After coming here I have worked in wet lab for 3 years no publications yet but hopefully will get one. I have maintained a good gpa of 3.9 and recently completed my MCAT with a 512.

A year into undergraduation I realized that AAMCAS has the column talking about previous matriculation into a medical college. I assume it by saying yes in the column, we presenting ourselves as a medical school dropout and medical colleges don’t like drop out candidates. Since then I am under lot of pressure feeling that I have screwed up my situation.

Boston college requirements say previously matriculated applicants need not apply. To clarify Earlier during the year I had called Boston college told them about my situation of why I dropped and why I want to pursue. The Admin said, the previously matriculated column is for people dropping out from MD schools after undergraduation unlike my situation. That call was very comforting to me saying it may not impact much on my career. But I again when I think more on this, not nessacarily every admin will think that way. A drop out is a drop out could be one of the other thought processes.

Had I known about this previous matriculation rule, I probably would not have dropped out.

Difficult situation I am in. Please comment. With my stats, will medical schools consider my application. Do you guys see the need for taking MCAT again. I hate to take MCAT again. I struggle with the critical reasoning portion of it
