I am looking to apply next cycle and there are two important things I have yet to do yet (Take the DAT/Organic Chemistry 2). I was originally going to take Orgo 2 in the Spring and study for the DAT at the same time, but lately I am getting worried that taking Organic 2 at the same time might affect my DAT score. Would it look bad if I take say Biochem or Microbio in the Spring to give me a lighter load and the take Organic Chemistry 2 in the Summer or following semester? Would it look unfavorable that I am basically applying without Organic Chemistry completed?

Don't forget to cover the ochem 2 topics for the DAT if you postpone it.I mean I would like to get Organic Chemistry 2 over with, but I do remember Organic Chemistry 1 taking a large chunk of my time. I really need a fantastic DAT score.
I don't think orgo II Is necessarily harder than biochem, in fact I did better in organic. Both are just a bunch of random memorization, at least organic had some sense to it. Just start your DAT study now. You can really hammer out RC, QR, PAT, gen chem, and bio so that next summer all you gotta review is organic. Maybe do every Saturday morning, thanksgiving and Christmas break, because I'm guessing you have a lower GPA that you need to compensate for
Why not take Orgo II in the spring, study for the DAT that semester and for a month or so after your finals, then take the DAT in early summer? I agree with slm266, biochem is probably just as difficult as Orgo II, might have even been a little bit more difficult.
I agree with this plan. I took my DAT 7/13 and had my AADSAS transmitted 8/9. Would have been a lot sooner if I had finished my PS before. Nothing wrong with a Summer test, unless you're planning on summer school. Why not take Orgo II in the spring, study for the DAT that semester and for a month or so after your finals, then take the DAT in early summer? So when exactly would I be able to start my AADSAS application exactly? I would like to put everything I have ready asap so its not a crazy rush at the end. Like when is the earliest I can load my PS, Transcripts, Shadowing hours etc? I will most likely not be done with the DAT until around mid July also.

It opened June 3rd this year if I remember correctly, so first week of June.
