Hi All,

I need to practice for the upcoming cycle and I am totally clueless on how to go about buying a proper compressor unit. I have typodonts and airotor handpiece.

Please please guide me on how I could buy and especially what else I would need.

Appreciate all of your guidance.

You can buy an oil free compressor from either lowes or home depot. I used the one from lowes.. Those are noisy though but it worked for me. You will also need a dental turbine unit and that you can buy by eBay.
Hope this helps.

Thank you guys. I have been scouring Ebay since I read ur messages. Hopefully should get started on practicing soon!! Good luck and many thanks to you too!! 🙂

One more thing what is this concept with a mounting pole? How could I use one to simulate a chair and patient? If any of you can help me with the answer please do! Thanks again!

It helps you practise for indirect vision mainly. You can just attach it to your regular table (low rise, preferably) where you intend to practise. Some schools conduct bench exams on manikin and not bench top, that is why I think it's useful. There's even a video on youtube on how to use it. It's pretty simple actually! Good luck. 👍

Cheers!

You can search on eBay and Amazon for dental compressor. Here are few links:

As people pointed out, think about getting noiseless if you are living in apt. Although I was living in apartment, I used noisy one because of cheaper price and I used to put it in closet to reduce noise and it worked well 🙂

Guys! Plzz plzz explain to me, what is the compressor for? If I buy adental turbine, it will not be enough to be able to practice? Do I need to buy a compressor anyway even if I have the dental turbine? The dental turbine doesn't have a compressor??

Thanks 🙂

No it does not. The turbine unit has to be attached to a compressor and operated. I had the same question when I initially started gathering information!

good luck with practicing!👍🙂
