Need help with school compilation

I need help compiling a list of schools to apply to and need some advice on how to compile this list. Which schools are out of state friendly (for a California resident)? I know for sure I want to apply to UCSF, UCLA, USC, UOP, etc, but I don't know how to look for out of state schools.

Also, when schools require one semester of biochem, does this mean one or two quarters? UCLA said they require only 1 quarter.
