I dont understand why these are wrong. Can someone explain why?

When energy is expended to move molecules up a concentration gradient, the process is termed
A passive transport
B active transport
C simple diffusion
D facilitated diffusion
E osmosis

given answer is A

The addition of an enzyme to a solution yields glucose. The enzyme may have acted on which of the following components of the original solution to produce the glucose?

A lipids
B RNA
C DNA
D glycogen
E albumin

given answer C

Any help would be appreciated

When you say GIVEN answer , is that the answer you put or the answer given? Cause i think the first one is active transport..... and second one glycogen

i agree with you. those answers are what the book is telling me

which book is this?

The reasoning for my answers would be that active transport is involved in going against concentration gradient ( UP your gradient) just google it, and going DOWN your gradient would not require energy.

As for glucose, glycogen is a stored form of glucose, and it is catabolized when the body needs glucose.

it's Barron's book to prepare for the DAT. I just found out that it has a lot of mistakes. Thanks for the help and does anyone know what book I should get to replace it or where I can get the corrections to this practice exam?

Throw that book away. I have it too and it's full of mistakes. Get Kaplan, DAT Destroyer, Schaum's outlines Biology, look at your old class notes...
