I need help figuring out if my timeline is realistic or if I should wait until the next application cycle.

Two caveats that may make a difference in responses: I live in a region that does not have semester schools, we only have quarter schools. Unfortunately I can't move at the moment. I also work full-time and take full-time night classes (my Science GPA is fine, a 3.6), I can't stop working at least in the short term.

I had originally planned to take my MCAT in April 2011, apply to AACOMAS in late Spring 2011.

However I won't even be able to start my O-Chem sequence until Summer Qt. 2011, which means I won't finish O-Chem until Winter 2012. All my other pre-reqs would be complete by June 2011.

According to my top choice Osteopathic school, they say I just need to have O-Chem completed by the time I matriculate and to go ahead with this application cycle, but is it realistic 1. to take the MCAT with no OChem courses complete and 2. to compete with students who have completed their pre-reqs?

Should I wait to apply in 2012 instead of 2011?

Any advice you can provide would be much appreciated!

PS- I posted this in non-trad bc I graduated with my undergrad in Poli Sci in 2006 and have been working on my pre-med reqs for almost a year now.

I think you will find the MCAT to be pretty tough without any O Chem. Perhaps take a couple practice tests and see where you stand.

Also, if you are working full time you may appreciate the extra months to prepare.
