Hi. I made a mistake and need help. To make a long story short, I was accepted into dental the school of my choice 2 cycles ago. At the last minute (about a month beforehand) I chose not to go for a number of personal reasons. (I do not want to say too much on this forum bc one can never know who is reading.) Looking back I am not sure I was in the right frame of mind and am really regretting my decision.

I have always been fascinated with teeth and have wanted to be a dentist for the longest time and when the chance came I started to have doubts---not so much about the profession, but for other reasons. During this time I tried to convince myself of other professions, yet still find myself always reading about teeth, etc...

I now fear I may have damaged all chances of becoming a dentist. I am pretty certain the school of my choice that I was accepted into will not take me back. I also don't know how to approach my advisor. He will probably think I am crazy if I tell him I want to reapply after already getting in...plus it is probably getting really late to apply for this year. Any advice would be appreciated.

i say, retake the DAT (since scores expire) and then apply again next year! if you got in the first time, you should be able to do it again.. gluck!

Well...it is not like you chose another school over your "school of your choice." You just didn't want dentistry at that time. I think you have a good shot there.
