Hey guys/gals,

I need some advice on where I stand now and what I should do to improve my application.

I am a Canadian applicant. I applied this cycle to 18 schools (mostly Canadian friendly) and only landed two interviews at Nova and Indiana. I did apply pretty late (they received my DAT scores in January). I got High-hold waitlisted at Nova.

I have a Science GPA of 3.65, and an overall GPA of 3.57. I have 200+ shadowing experience. I am going onto my fifth year of sciences and I have a bunch of upper level science classes (eg. Physio, Bio, Chem, Biochem, Phys..etc)

Dat scores are: Reading 17, Bio 20, Chem 20, Science Total 19, AA 19, PAT 21, Carving 26.

What do you think I should do to better my application? I plan on applying early this year hopefully June 1.

Thanks for the Help!!!

Man your good to go. The main reason you did not get accepted is because you applied way too late (January ). Also with your GPA and DAT i would not be surprised if you still got accepted this year.

Apply early this June, make sure you have some voluneer hours and if your not good at interviews improve your interview skills. I am pretty sure you'l get in next year or even this year.

BTW: I am Canadian also, what did you do to study for Carving???

Im gonna Volunteer this month to get in as many hours as I can.

I started off using the chalk at the start to learn how to write out all of the lines (b/c the soap is rediculously expensive) and then I just practiced on as many soaps as I had time.

I wrote the DAT twice, I got a 25 the first time and 26 the second.

Have you been accepted to any schools yet?

you need to contact nova..... I've heard this over and over, Nova's wait list (especially high-priority) will give you extra consideration if you keep showing interest in the school.... Keep calling them (I know they don't pick up) but keep trying until they do.

There is hope for you this cycle pal.

As far as next year goes, I'd do everything the same except APPLY EARLY June.

I have been doing that since I had been waitlisted, but I just want to be ready for the worst so Im trying to get some advice on what I can do for the next cycle.

Add on 2-3 points to your RC score and you'd be in already. It's an important section from what I gathered during my admissions process
