Need intro Psychology for med school ?

I've heard that an intro psychology class is required/recommended for many medical schools (according to my school's pre-med advising website), so now I'm thinking of taking it this fall. Any truth to this ?

I've never heard anyone ask for it, but it tends to be an easy A. Can't hurt, I guess.

I think that UIC has some type of requirement for so many hours of these type of courses if my mind is not failing me. As a matter of fact I had to call them and make sure because if I was to get into UIC I would have to take another semester of psychology for I only have 3 cr hrs and they wanted 6 or something like that.

I have never heard of a med. school requirement for psych. I'm taking it in the fall as a GE, though.
