So I received an email from UCSF last night saying that they are missing 3 things:

International Transcript(s)
Credential Evaluation
Course Descriptions

How is this possible? The deadline is TOMORROW and I had NO idea what the Credential Evaluation even was until I googled it and realized that there is absolutely NO way that I can get this in on time by tomorrow. UCSF is one of my TOP choices and I would be devastated if they withdrew my application.

Am I the only one that didn't know about credential evaluations and that I had to submit my international transcripts directly to them even though AADSAS has it? And what are course descriptions?!?! For every class that I've ever taken???

PLEASE HELP ME.

murraim, you need to call the school asap. they are probably the only ones who can advise you wisely. are you on the east coast?

No 🙁 I'm in NYC. I'm literally counting down the minutes until it turns 12:00 here (9:00 their time) so I can call them. I've left 2 different people voicemails, and I emailed the automated response email back. This is the worst news ever. Is it possible that they give me an extension since they informed me about this 36 hours before? A time frame in which I obviously cannot give them what they asked me for on time?

You're an international student right? Just want to check because I applied to UCSF too and I don't remember submitting any of those things...

It's 12PM now on the east coast, so I hope you're sorting everything out with the school. I agree, that is REALLY short notice, but I'm not surprised... they seem like a school that doesn't care if they leave people hanging because it's so competitive.

I hope everything works out!

unless your stats are amazing, i think you should just let it go, UCSF is one of the more selective of dental schools, even people who've submitted on time (INSTATE) with good stats haven't been invited for interview.

It takes at least 3+weeks to get a credential evaluated. and btw, NYC is on the east coast.

Good luck with your other applications

No I'm not an international student, I just took an International Politics class at the London School of Economics for my own pleasure, it literally didn't even count for school credit or hours. I cannot believe my application would be withdrawn over this. I've been on the phone with the secretary and they literally *do not care* what the situation is, even if this is my dream school and they are crushing my life aspirations. No sympathy whatsoever. Has anyone else with abroad credit experienced this? How did anyone know about this 'credential evaluation'? That apparently is another $200 or so, add on an extra $195 if you want the process to be rushed.

Oh and good call on the east coast comment.. clearly not thinking straight right now...

Does anyone know what other schools require credential evaluations? Is this something I should get and just forward to every school so I don't get screwed over like I did with UCSF?
