I hope someone can help me. I have never posted before, but have gained a lot of useful advice from all of you. (And had some laughs as well 🙂 My first semester in college my mother died of cancer (this was 11 years ago, I am a non-trad student) I didn't complete the semester, but all my profs were very kind and gave me incompletes and told me to come back whenever I was ready. So...went back later and saw the I's were F's :scared: Turns out you have to retake within one year. Long story short, I finished those classes and got A's. But...because of AMCAS those F's were figured into my GPA and dropped to a low B average. How (and do I) explain this during an interview???? Thanks for you help!

just like that.

Couldn’t you have petitioned your college to remove the F's from your transcript; I had a friend do that before he applied to law school. He was in a similar situation. But I suppose now that you have submitted to AMCAS it is prob too late. This seems like one of those extenuating circumstances you should try to explain in your personal statement or secondaries. If you have already completed those you may want to send a letter to all the schools you applied to so it is placed in your file. Otherwise just explain it at your interviews.

Thanks for your help, you guys! I interview at UNMC on Friday, December 10. Wish me luck! :luck:
