Hi everybody
I was wondering if anybody could give some insight into DIY post bacc programs
Im a fourth year undergrad from a top 25 university graduating in spring 2016 with a 3.1 GPA and 2.9 sGPA
as long as i dont mess up
Im planning on doing a DIY post bacc at a local CUNY school in my gap year while studying for the MCAT
would this be the right way to go or should I try for an SMP or a Masters?

serious question:
why do you think post-bacc will be different?
what has changed that you go from a ~3.0 student to someone who can consistently 4.0?

I would start with some lower level science courses, possibly retake something that you got below C in, to see if you have turned things around. Once you get to sGPA to >3.0 and have a solid MCAT, apply to SMP if you are aiming for MD. For DO, retake classes and take advantage of the grade replacement.

Your current stat is really low for MD and low for DO (unless you're URM/veteran/etc., and even then...)

The post bac will be closer to home and will be in a sort of an easier environment
I have matured more and know what i have to do

does being asian hurt my chances?
