Hey! So, I need some advice on something. I'm a college senior who's graduating soon. I have upwards of a 3.9 GPA from a top-40 school, but my MCAT is only a 27--9, 7, 11. I was also a double major (if that matters). I've done research--my PI and I are working on publishing a paper together--and I have good extracurriculars, shadowing experience, etc. I'm planning on hitting the MCAT hardcore for a month and retaking at the beginning of June.
My question is about what to do for my year off. I got in to two bioethics programs, Case Western and Penn, and am trying to decide between them. I only want to take one year off. In that year, I could finish Case's program but not Penn's. Which program should I go to? Is the name difference that big? Should I just chill for a year and work or something? I'm not interested in top, top school, and would be elated to get in somewhere like Penn State, etc. What should I do? any advice is much appreciated!

Do you really think your site will improve much in a month's time? I would devour now time and forego the masters altogether, get a paid research position or something

In your situation, I don't know that a masters would really add anything substantial to your application, unless you could really tie having the extra classes/degree into how you will practice in medicine in the future. I don't see that with a bioethics program. I would recommend killin the MCAT and getting a job.

Scribe for a year, kill the MCAT, ???, profit.

I definitely want to take the MCAT this summer--before the new one comes out. What's the latest I can take it? I'll submit my app within the first week with my first MCAT score.
