ok.. well my app has been in for a while now, and i know a few schools are awaiting for some info such as my DAT's and LOR from commitee..

I have a 3.6GPA and on my dat's i got everything 17 except PAT (15)... i have did a summer internship at a dental school and ive done lots of shadowing, and my school wrote me a great commitee letter so my resume is pretty good, but im really nervous about my DAT scores... i know to be competitive is like 19, but damn, this driving me crazy...

ive applied to penn, temp, umdnj,bu,umd, and nyu but i dunno..

comments?

If your DAT scores are the only weak part of your application I think you'll at least get some interviews and get accepted somewhere, you just may not have as much of a choice of where you go.

Seems like many schools are reporting 20 AA as being the avg. for applicants this year. Even with much higher scores the 15 PAT would make it an uphill battle. I think a repeat of the DAT is the only way you are going to get a chance from the schools.

At a recent interview, i was told PAT scores were low this year across the board. dont know if it makes you feel better, but it made me feel better.

I also got a 15 in the PAT my first time around, but i retook the DAT and went up in almost every section- just worth thinking about. Good luck.

I think stronger DAT scores would help your case. If you are a minority, apply to Howard and Meharry as these schools' average admitted DAT scores are in the 17 range. Otherwise, I think your application will be in the middle of the pile of applicants. You might catch a break, you might not.
