I'm a senior graduating this year with a Biology major. I'm currently graduating with a 2.7 GPA. The goal has always been medical school, but somehow something always came up each semester. At this point, I'm not sure what to do. I'm applying to a few post-bacs but most of them require a minimum 3.0 GPA. Has anyone got into a post-bacc with below a 3.0? If yes, which ones?

I'm also considering another option. Should I stay back another year and take up another major to increase my GPA? Or should I just graduate and apply to Caribbean med schools? HELP PLEASE!

Grade replacement with DO is your only hope. You need to get your GPA to at least 3.2 and hopefully do well on your MCAT.

Never go Caribbean.

Good luck!

You do a DIY post-bac.

Post bac programs and SMPs are a dime-a-dozen. Do your homework, and if needed, be prepared to relocate.

I agree with my learned colleague that it will be faster to do GPA repair by retaking all F/D/C coursework.

Also consider working on your coping skills. If outside events so drastically clobbered your GPA, what's going to happen when you're in med school???
