I am just curious as to what I should do. I am a sophomore pre-med student and I was going to use this summer to replace my scores in calculus 1 and 2 because they were, let's just say awful. and now my cumulative is suffering because of it. I currently have a 3.3 and need to pull it it up somehow. My problem is that I got invited to interview for an eight week summer internship and if I happen to be chosen, that would take my only opportunity to fix calculus (since I'm dbl majoring in bio and chem.) What do you guys think I should do in the event of acceptance into the internship?

Take the internship.. u need a bunch of ECs to get into medical school and if you did awful in calc even retaking the grade AMCAS will average the grades so it wont actually help you that much. You also don't have to double major, pick one and retake the calc classes another time.

Doesn't matter as much for MD because they don't grade replace anyway. Unless you made a C or lower, then I'd do the internship and re-take the class later.

Well, I did make Cs in both 1 and 2 and just have been busting it in my other classes to make up for my laziness. The university which I attend will replace the grade, does this mean that AMCAS will still average it?

Wouldn't a double major look better than just a chemistry minor? (Plus I just like chemistry and biology so that plays in it too.)

They will average no matter what. A double major doesn't look better then taking that extra effort and putting it into an EC. I would do the internship and try to fix the calc grades later on if you can.
