Hi everyone,

I need some help determining what my chancing are to get in a DO program. I am a Junior and have a 3.8 GPA biology major at my university. I got a 270 on my MCAT with a breakdown of 12P, 6V, 9B. I know my breakdown is horrible and i took it again and got the same score with similar breakdown :(

Extracurricular Activities
-Research on Type 1 diabetes and 1 publication in Journal of Biochemical and Biophysical Research communication
-Volunteer experience in ER of Trauma 1 hospital (150+ hours)
-Shadowing of physicians (100+ hours)
-President and founder of a club at my school
-Member of various different clubs at school (AMSA, Tri-Beta Honors Club)

I could use any help to try and figure out what to do next?? Should I take my mcat again?? Do i have a chance of getting in any DO school??

Thanks For all your help everyone!

I've seen posts in PreMed Osteo many times about applicants getting in with a VS of 6. Considering the relative strength of the rest of your application, assuming you don't aspire to the most-selective DO schools, I think there is good reason to believe you'll get in somewhere if you apply broadly. If you are ESL, then you're in even better shape.
