Hey all,
This is my first post to SDN and I have to say I love it and I love how everyone is so nice and helpful! But... I need a little help on what schools to apply to. I am from Washington and currently go to UW going into my senior year, I have a 3.37 Cum and 3.0 science, and am about to take the DAT, hoping for above 20. The reason my GPA is a little bit low is because I work almost full time to support my schooling and living situation, but I know I can do well on the DAT to balance out my GPA. I have over 250 hours of community service/time in clinics, and some research in the UW dental school dealing with public health. Anyway... I am looking at applying to some school far away from home, possibly in the south. I want a chance to experience a whole different part of the US and feel like I would fit perfectly down there. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on which schools I should apply to, if my GPA is descent enough to be accepted to those schools, etc. I want a school that isn't in the middle of the busy city, yet not in the middle of nowhere. Thanks so much in advance I feel like I would be so behind without SDN. Also, any thoughts on if I'm a competitive applicant? My passion is in dentistry and I know that if I get interviews I can show that to them.
Have a great day all!
