Oky so heres my situation...I am registered to take Bio 2, Microbio, and Genetics this semester while also working full time and studying for the PCAT in October...I need to get A's in all classes because I want to raise my GPA (means how this is my second year applying) but I am afraid I will not have the adequate time to put into genetics (I've heard this class requires about 20-25 hours/week of study time at my school) BUT I want to take it still because it is an upper level course and I thought that would look good to the Pharm. schools that I am applying to (showing them I am capable of a taking such a semester because I haven't taken a lot of upper level courses) although I may end up with a B or possibly a C. Whats more important...a higher GPA taking only 2 classes a semester or taking these upper level courses with a mediocre GPA? PS. I don't have a BS and my current GPA is a 3.35.

Any input I would greatly appreciate!!

You're applying for the second time, so I'm assuming you've finished all of your pre-reqs. In that case, I would suggest only doing the two classes and acing them. You're pulling a full-time job, so having that extra class may very well bring down your grades. While your GPA isn't stellar, it also isn't bad at all and is enough to get you interviews given that the rest of your application is up to snuff. In my opinion, finishing the pre-reqs and having a higher GPA will be more favorable to the adcoms than completing one extra upper division course and having a slightly lower one.

At some point, as sad as it may sound, this whole thing is just a numbers game.

Better GPA's will always get looked at first. Get the grades, then wow them with all the other things you do with your life.
