Sup guys, I need some help with what I should do in the future. I messed up my GPA from earlier in college.

I had a 3.5 freshman year
3.0 sophomore year
2.6 this year 🙁

To be honest, I started to neglect school and party. But I'm over that. I'm pulling off a 3.0+ this semester, and I should be able to get my GPA to 3.1 if I keep doing what I'm doing. I still have 40 credits remaining.

My question is, I'm thinking about getting a Master's degree first to strengthen my application. I'll be 23 when I graduate college, and 25 when I'll be done with my Masters. And I'm pretty sure I can pull of a 20 on the DAT.

Should I go for my Masters and then apply to dental school? I really want to go into this profession. I'm thinking I could do very well in my Masters, apply to schools, and greatly strengthen my chance of getting accepted instead of wasting money on applications immediately after college.

what makes you so confident that you can pull off a 20 on the DAT?

Even if you do well enough to pull up your GPA (both science and overall), you need to have very good scores on your DAT for schools to look at you (depends on what schools you are aiming for though...). I would plan on doing the Masters if I were in your shoes and prepare for the DAT during your Masters year and apply the fall following your Masters completion. This way, your GPA from your Masters will be fully calculated for your app.
