Need Superbill advice

Any attendings out there care to share what you use for Superbill/charge submissions? I'm a general physiatrist.

I am sadly still using a home made excel spreadsheet where I manually write in diagnoses and charges every week.

I think its time I step into the modern age and I'm sure there are nicer options out there, be they electronic or whatnot.

I created my own initially in Publisher, and now in Word. It is a pain in the ass when there are wholesale CPT changes, but that gives me something to do on New years day.

I hand write in my ICD-9. My CPTs are only the E&M, U/S, EMG/NCS, BoTox, and joint/tendon injections. When I do something weird like sutures (once a year or so), or splinting (every 8 weeks or so), I hand write them in.

What information is stored? After I'm done taking the MCAT, I'd like to see if I could create a downloadable application to help with this. 🙂 My MCAT is in June so don't hold your breath but I'll see what I can do.

I enjoy fooling around and this doesn't sound too complex (he said foolishly before diving in). If you had an application to store these things, what would you want it to look like? What information? Would you want it to be printable? Any additional info?

When do ICD-10 codes go into effect? Would someone be willing to send a list of possible codes that would be needed? I'd love to hear from others if they are interested in something like this. Is there a standard document style that needs to be submitted?
