Need tips on how to be a better pharm clerk!!

ppl are usually slow at using the debit/credit machine (or writing checks) so while they take their sweet time, I go pull up the next persons scripts. My advice is to NOT answer the phone while ur at the register because I get complaints and its easy to make mistakes (ex. ringing up items multiple times, wrong change, etc...)

Eh, whenever I'm at pickup I ask them the first and last name as I am walking to the waiting bins. Search through them, scan, and get them outta there.
I do not ask for CVS Extracare cards because then they spend the next minute looking for it. And if they are paying by credit cards, I ask for it and swipe it at my side of the counter.

wow u must have really nice people that go 2 ur store b/c the customers at my store get irate if i forget to scan their cvs cards. they make a big deal about it & then even after I give them the credit (via manager override) they are mad that they dont have their tangible coupons.

I dont ask for extra care cards. If the customer has their card ready to scan without me asking then I scan it, but if they dont have it out then i wont. Sometimes they'll remember the card after the fact. If it's busy, i'll tell them that it's too late and that if they hold on to their reciept, the next time they come someone can scan it then. If it's not to busy, i'll do the extra care adjust thing then.
