Hi,

I am preparing for NDB-1 and Ii plan to take test in end of sept. I want to ask, can we pass questions and attempt the next one and later come back to attempt the missed question or once passed the question cannot return to it?

Is anyone planning to give NDB-1 in end of sept?

Hi onkyo..i took the comp based part 1 on july 18th..this is how it went..

I went to the centre at 7:30 itself..started exam by 8:15 am..they have a few formalities like taking ur pic and thumbprint..then they give u some scrap paper and pencils. You will have a 15 min tutorial on how to navigate the exam and then after the tutorial u can start the exam.Only after the tutorial, the exam timing will start.

First session was Anat and physio/biochem.Second session was micropath and dental anat.

The time will be seen on the right side upper corner of the window and will be counting backwards from 3.5 hrs.

Once u finish the last question on the first session, that is physio/biochem for me..a screen will appear listing all the questions u marked, did not mark and r incomplete from both anat and biochem/physio.

Marked means u have ticked the answer and pressed a MARKED button on the bottom of the page.
Did not mark means u have ticked the answer but have not pressed the MARKED button.(I did this for the q's i wasnt sure of so that when i revised it i could go through it again.)
Incomplete means u have skipped the question and not answered it.
You can review all the questions, or review only marked/unmarked ones.
Once u have finished reviewing and confident abt all answers and ur time is getting over, u can press END at the bottom of the page..a popup will come asking u if u want to end it definitely and jus press yes and ur session will be over.Once u end the 1st session u cannot go through it again.

Then its breaktime..1 hr break which is timed on the window.
You r not allowed to study becos u will be debarred if u do..but if u r going out, i dont think anyone will know!!
I had lunch in the centre itself..take a very light lunch,or else u will feel sleepy.Try to eat some dark chocalate, it will help u keep awake!
I took only a 40 min break becos i was getting bored doing nothing!

You can use the loo as many times u want to during the exam....u cannot take anything not even a paper napkin with u inside the exam room. There is a water cooler so u can drink water as many times u want but remember the more number of times u go out for these things..time will be running out.

You need to take ur ID's..I took my passport and credit card(does not have a photo but its fine).

Its a nice atmosphere inside the centre..i think all prometric centres will be like this.
They give u head phones so that it will block all noise from outside.

Hope this helped u.
all the best! 👍

are u sure about not being allowed to study in the break.
i have given my exam twice , never ddi any one say anythign even though i was sitting right next to the prometric moderators...
i think it depends on the centre. i remmeber some one else complianing about the sam ething , that she wasnt allowed to study and then when she complained to ADA>.ADA said that there were no rules against not studying...

anyway.. better to confirm than get into trouble..

ya..i also heard that some ppl were allowed to study..thats why i specifically asked the person at the centre who read from some paper she had and said that i can do anything i want but study!!

thanks for sharing the info rtvj and toothie. I know how Prometric centers are from inside coz 10 days ago i gave TOEFL exam. The Prometric center near my home is very small has only 14 computers, 7 in each row. and besides that a narrow hall, thats it..
