I have been to many threads that discuss when the latest one can take the DAT in order to have a good chance on getting in. But there is no consensus...some say take it in July, some say AUg 30 is the last day...any comments on this?

i dont think it really matters. but i would say the sooner the better in my opinion if youre applying for this years cycle. im taking mine in two weeks and im applying for the next years cycle. just feels better to get it out of the way.

like i said... the sooner the better. but if all your other stats are good... i heard taht some schools will still interview you and you could have a conditional acceptance, meaning that if u finish ur DATs and do okay then ur admitted. But July or August doestn really make a difference. just make sure youre ready when u take it. if u need more time take it in august.

schedule it earlier, say mid august, and relax and start studying for it, if u dont feel youre ready say 2 weeks before, then reschedule.. and work from there.. dont panic, you wont be able to study well.

I think it all depends on your application. If you have submitted your application then I think that buys you more time to take the DAT because schools will most likely start looking through applications in late july and most in august. After they get your app and everything looks good they will ask you to fill out their secondary and require you to send in your dat scores and anything else they need such as processing fees etc. So I think you can wait till august 30 but make sure you start that app if your applying for fall 2006. Hope this helps.
