Hi, I’ve been getting more stressed than I should be about deciding what schools to apply to. I have a list but it is too long as it will be expensive and doing so many secondaries will be killer.
3.7c/3.5s, rough freshman year but 3.9 over last year.
518 MCAT
good variety of volunteering / clinical / heavy on research
Home state: Michigan

the current list:
All my in-state schools
BU
Case W
Zucker
Emory
Quinnipiac
Dartmouth
Icahn
Keck
Loyola
Rush
Thomas Jefferson
Stanford
Brown
Tufts
USF
UChicago
Pitt
Wisconsin
Wake Forest

If anyone with some knowledge sees any that i should take off that would be great! also, if you think there’s any I should add, i will begrudgingly consider!

Agree with the wise gyngyn. Also delete Brown; consider adding U Toledo and/or Mayo

agree with the advice given by gyngyn and Goro. I would remove Stanford and replace with Mayo. Your MCAT score is solid but with a 3.5 sGPA that might hurt you at Stanford. Mayo has about the same avg MCAT but doesn't GPA screen and will favorably consider your recent upward trend

Since you didn’t specify the number of hours for any of your ECs, spend some time reading up on Rush. They have heavy requirements for ECs and most of their matriculated have hundreds if not thousands of hours of activities.

thank you! Do you know of any schools that tend to be more willing than others to accept a lower GPA with a good trend if you have a good MCAT?
