NEED YOUR ADVICE: should i apply next year?

here is my stats.

canadian university student, currently 3rd year, 1st year gpa: 2.9 2rd year gpa: 3.7 3rd year gpa: hopefully 3.6---3.7 so cgpa should be around 3.4 will take us version dat this year BUT here is the problem: I DONT THINK i can get degree after my 4th year coz i still need 12 hour more credit to complete the degree.

so should i apply next june even if i cannot get degree before matriculation? or wait for another year to finish this 12 hour credit and then apply?

I don't know if things are different at a Canadian university, but down here in the U.S. the college student usually has pretty long summers (3 months plus). Perhaps you might take courses over the summer to make up for those 12 credits if you have one between your 3rd and 4th years.

I would see if its offered at another university, and then see if you can get it to transfer over.

check with your prospective schools. Most schools want at least a degree.

That's extremely misleading, and not the case at all. 75% of my class has "just" a bachelor's degree, and another 15% or so don't have any degree at all. It's certainly not <em>necessary</em> to go beyond a bachelor's, so long as your grades and prereqs are in good shape.

For anyone thats interested, here's Tufts' stats for degree holders:

"Q. Do I need to complete my Bachelor?s Degree before enrolling at Tufts?
A. Tufts gives preference to applicants who complete at least their bachelor?s degrees prior to matriculation. Over 95% of the incoming students receive at least a bachelor?s degree before enrolling, and the remaining students are enrolled in joint-degree programs that award bachelor?s degrees after successful completion of the first year of dental school. Accepted students are also contractually obligated to complete any degree program in which they are enrolled at the time of acceptance."

That's great, but you've got 27 schools to go before you can make any claims to what "most schools" prefer.

I dont really think its debateable that most schools prefer at least a bachelors. The only thing we can really say is that there are schools that admit exceptional students that have not completed a degree, you will just have to check with the schools you are interested in to find out.
