Need your opinion on interviewing

I have an interview at Creighton in a couple days and I want to know what you guys think about letting the schools know it is your top choice during the interview. I feel like this is important to tell them, but do they expect everyone to say it at all their interviews so it doesnt mean much? Creighton is my top choice and i'd like to let them know that. Do you think its appropriate to just come out and say it or would it be better to say it in a more round about way? Let me know what you think, thanks

Say what you want but it won't mean anything. Everyone says whatever school they're interviewing at is there top choice. This is a well known fact.

I haven't said it at any of mine. Although, Marquette did ask me to list my top three (no order) and I included them in it.

If they ask me at UCSF, I'd be lying through my teeth, b/c out of 8 it was 6 or 7 at best b/c it would cost so much $$$$$. I hate lying, but I'd probably have to anyway. Do you think I could say something like....UCSF is da bomb if somehow you could give me a little money??? Not is those words of course...or is an interview to early to insinuate that you are looking for a little free assistance? Basically, my interview spot is probably going to be open after I interview, cuz they're going to ask something that I will have a hard time lying about!🙂

I know ahead of time that people will disagree with my viewpoint, I am used to it. That doesn't change who I am and how I feel so here it goes:

If you take the time and expense to fly somewhere, you better lie your ass off if you feel you have to. Sell it hard, and sell it passionately even if it is your last resort school. Find as many reasons you can think of and spin them in your favor. Otherwise you wasted your money. This is your super bowl, even if it isn't your number one school, it just might be the only school that will take you.

I personally can't afford to fly anywhere I wouldn't really go. So all of my interivews are at the top of my proverbial "list". In all reality they are all on the top of your list until you have multiple or even a single acceptance.

Ya know, after I posted I thought about it too. Why the hell would I interview if I'm not interested. It's not like I'd turn it down if it was the only place I got in, and who knows. So I had better treat it like it's the only place I'm applying to. I'm just lucky to have an interview there, so I'll treat it that way and let time decide the rest.

To the OP, if Creighton really is your first choice school, then there is nothing wrong with letting them know how passionate you are about their program. However, I would tell them in a round about way to prevent from sounding desperate.
