Hey all! I have an interview at NEOUCOM on Friday, it's my first one :scared: ! Anyone know what the interview is like? I know it's open file, and i had a bad year so I'm sure I will be asked about it. How do you reply to that kind of question without making it sound like you are making excuses? Also, for those that have interviewed at NEOUCOM in the past when did you find out about your status either way? Thanks :luck:

when did you get your interview? just wondering, i haven't heard anything from them in awhile. and, are you an ohio resident?

You'll get better responses in the Pre-Osteo forum. Congrats on your interview. I've heard good things about the school from friends.

it's an MD school, i thought.

I stand corrected. The OP is referring to the Northeastern Ohio University COM. I was thinking of the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Sorry, still early in the morning at first. Good luck on yours interview!

I received my invite last wed night...they had actually mailed the invite to me on the 10th, but it was an old address...so they emailed me to confirm. Anyone have any input on the interview there? Anyone know how long they take to let you know post-interview?

It's 30 minutes with two interviewers. I felt it was a laid-back, stress-free interview. If you haven't already, check out the interview feedback section to see some of the questions asked. Nothing too unexpected.

I think the best way is to demonstrate that you're taking steps to improve or build on those experiences. If you struggled on a course and are re-taking it (or taking a class of similar difficulty), you could mention that and your desire to face those challenges and learn from them. I think they'd want to see that if you have stumbled in a particular area, you're doing everything you can to be better for it.

When I interviewed in january 2004, I received a letter two or three days later informing me I was on their alternate list. This year, I interviewed on january 12th and received a phone call a week later informing me I'd receive an acceptance (which came in the mail three days later - jan. 22).

Good luck with your interview! If you have any other questions, let me know.

Mine was a little longer than 30 minutes. Again, two interviewers at the same time. They asked a few theoretical questions, nothing too tough. You decide who gets a transplant, who do you choose and why? What do you see yourself doing in 10 years? A classmate is having problems with alcohol drugs, shows up to clinicals impaired - what do you do? Someone is cheating off of you during a test - what do you do?

I interviewed on Jan. 4. They told us that day that the committee would be meeting on the 19th and the letters would go out the next day. I received a phone call on the 19th and my letter arrived today.

Good luck on the interview!! Its a good sign to even get an interview as they only hold about 8 interview dates a year.
