hey guys

i was wondering if anyone could add any insight to this. I am deciding on fellowship and considering nephrology. I am about to start a rotation in it now. We will see how it goes. But my major concern is that dialysis will be depressing. I was wondering if anyone had any experiences along this line, either agreeing or disagreeing with this. thanks for the info!

Dialysis IS depressing (but less depressing than the alternative).

what do you mean by "depressing"? I had worked in a dialysis unit for a year in my own country. Does a dialysis unit make good $$ ?

Nephrology doesn't seem appealing to most MDs b/c of on-call commitment?

Is it feasible to buy some dialysis machine and open a dialysis unit by yourself?
