Ok so I'm going through some kaplan practice test and I got the following question.

All of the following statements about the autonomic nervous system are correct Except:

A. The motor neurons of the sympathetic nervous system originate in the thoracic and lumbar regions of the spinal cord.

B. The sympathetic nervous system regulates the secretion of adrenaline and noradrenaline from the adrenal medulla

C The nervous pathways of the autonomic nervous system consist of one sensory neuron and one motor neuron

D. The motor neurons in the parasympathetic nervous system that orginate in the cranial and sacral regions of the spinal cord synapse near the target site

E. The autonomic nervous system regulates the heart, the smooth muscle in the walls of the digestive tract, the respiratory system and the excretory system

The answer is C, its actually one sensory, and two motor neurons. I read through cliffs, kbb, and even an older edition of campbells, and it really gives generalizations about the autonomic nervous system. E and B are easy to eliminate, but to arrive at the answer it would seem like you would require a little bit more knowledge in detail. Is this an example of those random detail questions that might come up on the actual test, or is this something we must reasonably know?

the only reason I knew this question was b/c I took anat & phys last year. Seems really detailed for the dat.
