im going to be a senior this year (in california) and im worried!!! :scared:
i heard you have to finish classes in college that you didnt finish in high school??? im thinking about going into pharmacy school and i know the pre pharm requirements but im worried im not going to make it...
the classes im taking in senior year are:
ap eng lit
ap calc
h physics
physiology (im thinking about taking this out and switching to a music class to bump up my gpa)
h gov and econ (one semesters each)
yearbook

i feel like im lacking in some of my classes compared to other people >.<
some colleges im thinking about are
uci uop ucsd ucsb or some community colleges just to finish my pre reqs and transfer...

oh and i was wondering what classes should i take for freshman year in college... i know its sort of early since im just working on my college apps but still... >.<;

First, worry about getting in to the college of your choice before worrying what your college schedule will be. Take things one step at a time, it makes tasks much more managable.

I've been out of HS for awhile, so maybe things have changed... but that schedule looks pretty hardcore compared to my senior year (gym, more gym, math, fool around on computers, teacher assistant and history).

Don't worry man. If you work your butt off, even you fail, you are not defeated. Stand up and fight again!

Take whatever you want your freshmen year of college and figure out what you want to major in because it doesn't really matter. High school is a stepping stone and that's all it is. No one is going to care about your high school grades after high school.

I had some slightly different classes (instead of economics we had law and instead of physics organic chemistry) but I still had more subjects than you. Add spanish, biology, psychology, gym and an elective subject (I chose for this year their cheesy first aid course), and save for law in which I sucked at (and I always passed math with crappy grades, meh), I did rather well in highschool.

And despite it all it was still a laughing joke in comparison to med school (in Mexico we don't do undergrad to enter med school, it's directly from HS!). While your HS grades don't matter as long as you do well in college, getting used to a more rigorous work schedule probably isn't bad. Toughen up man! 😎

Slightly different... As in you were in Mexico and directly entered a 6 year MD program as opposed to the OP who is concerned about their postgrad pharmacy prospects in the US?

i already took three years of spanish...and finished bio my sophmore year, psychology (maybe i'll think about), and gym uh no...i finished my requirements n its not going to bump up my grade unless i join a sport which i time have the time to spare... ><

1. If you've fulfilled all your UC entrance requirements, you won't have to repeat any of those (Subject A, Foreign Language -- which it looks like you've finished already, American History & Institutions). When you start college, there will be both UC requirements, specific college requirements (smaller colleges within the UC will have certain course requirements), and major requirements in order to graduate from a UC, but since you're still in the application process, don't worry about it.

2. Don't worry about "lacking in classes" compared to others. Keep your GPA up, and keep up with a few extracurriculars that you can really devote your time to. Stuff that you only did for a month or clubs that you were only a member of are relatively useless.

3. Don't worry about classes that you have to take your freshman year in college, you'll get all your college/major advising AFTER you get in. Concentrate on getting IN to college first, or deciding if you want to do the community college route and then transferring to a UC. (Considering the rising costs of a UC education and the lack of financial aid these days, this would probably be the more financially practical decision.)
