Hey allm

I'm taking my exam on January 20th and the time is coming close. However, after reading through posts about the exam, I felt a bit uneasy. I've been using just DAT Destroyer, Cliffs AP Bio (extensively), and Kaplan BB to skim through and review. I'm not sure if that's enough; I also have TS and CDP.

I took my first Topscore exam sometime this week and got:
AA: 21
BS: 21
GC: 19 (careless!)
OC: 23
PAT: 20
RC: 20
QR: 22
TS: 21

It's not looking too good?? I mean, I made some careless calculation errors in GC (~2 of them) and that would've probably brought me up to 21 or so. However, I'm not confident. I'm just not sure which program can allow me to fully gauge my standing. Also, what about QR? I went through DAT destroyer QR and out of the ... 140 or so questions? I got approximately 8 wrong? Or something along those lines.

People have said that the bio portion was based on basics, but.. I don't know what to say. What are your thoughts??

This is my second time going through DAT Destroyer (finished GC and OC within a two day span). Do you think this is enough preparation? I feel so incomplete. I'll probably take another TS exam in two days or so after I finish brushing up on some concepts. I'll probably go through Destroyer again

That's a good score, but you need to do more practice tests. Eventually you'll get better and better at it. Take more tests and see what your average is. For a first practice test, that's a good score. Don't stress yourself too much about this. Good luck

I'm just not sure how representative Topscore is so.. 😕

Ah, I'm hoping to shoot for a 23+ [it's something I've been wanting to get but I'm not getting it!]

I know! It's only because I messed up my freshman year of college but I've made up for it all so I kind of want to amplify my application with a higher DAT score. But, I'm just afraid I'll freeze up during the exam and not be confident with my answer choices and not do as well as I planned. I heard DAT is also somewhat based on luck. So, I "curve down" my Topscore grades so that's why I'm not very yet satisfied, haha. And it's next Thursday, ahhhhhhhh!

I know how you feel. I'm like that too. You just got to do more practice tests. Build up that confidence. That's what I'll be doing. You'll eventually reach that score. Don't lose hope 🙂

Thanks, DesertSonata! I hope all goes well for you as well. When do you plan on taking it? Have you started? I don't have much practice left.. hahah I only have one more Topscore exam so we'll see!

Ahhhh! How do you know whether you're ready or not? What are you getting on your practice tests?

Well you take the real thing when you're averaging the score you're looking for. I'm happy with an 18. That's what I've been averaging. People here stress way too much over an exam. Its not just the test that counts, its the overall application. I know people that got stellar and still can't get in. My advice to you is not to stress too much over this. Good luck 🙂

Ahhhh! Still stressing. I took my third TS exam today (the one people said was supposed to be a confidence booster) and I didn't do as well! I actually did worse in biology! That section had a handful of difficult questions! Like which bones derived from endochondral ossification. Another had about an important parasympathetic nerve that's necessary for innervations. ?!!?!?!?!? I hope it's not like it! Topscore also had some errors in their explanations and answer choices...

BIO: 19 (!?!?!?!?)
GC: 20 (should've been 21) [I don't get why I never get over 22...]
OC: 28
PA: 21
QR: 26
RC: 21
TS: 22
