do you guys practice for this out of old chem books? I have to say wasn't one of my better things during gen chem which was quite a while ago.

for example, knowing spectator ions etc. Is that important for the MCAT?

Net ionic equation is very important in general chemistry and is also useful for MCAT
It is not a tough topic at all .You need to just review few rules on the solubility
