Since neurointerventional is a non-ACGME approved fellowship, is there a lot of variation in how the program is structured?

If someone does a 1-yr neurorad fellowship, followed by a 1-yr interventional rad fellowship, would that person be considered a fellowship trained neurointerventional radiologist?

Yes, there is variation as how they are structured, even the duration, anywhere between 1 and 3 years (if I'm not mistaken, UCLA is 3 years for some people who don't meet all their requirements and includes some neurosurgical and neuroICU training). However, some of them are ACGME approved and the new name is Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology.

Yes.

After a year of interventional neuroradiology training, you are eligible for membership in the ASITN, which is the closest thing to a CAQ.
