Anyone a neuroscience major at UCLA? How good is it for premed? How easy/hard are the upper divs compared to psychobio, physi, mimg?

psychobio is the easiest. neurosci is among the hardest LS majors there are, along with physci. mcdb also has a reputation as an "easier" major. if you tell someone you're a neuro major usually the first response you get is "oooh. intense." just to give you an idea. do what you love. thats all that life should be about.. passion and purpose.

IIRC neuroscience and physci were both considered to be the "harder" pre-med majors. So ask yourself this: do you really like neuroscience? Unless the answer is yes, I would recommend taking something else. Adcoms don't know how hard your classes are.

umm i beg to differ ... neuro was a good major ... i graduated this past year (spring 08) and am now in med school

the core classes (101A,B,C, 102) are harder to get an A but aren't hard hard. The electives are fairly easy to get an A

Push your core classes to your senior year so that when you apply to med school they aren't on your transcript and you don't have to worry about getting good grades in them ....

thats what i did and i even got a C in one of them becasue could have cared less my senior year ... and I had been a stragiht A student ... so it was nice to chill my senior year with interviews ...
