At the rate I'm taking my coursework Ill be all set to take the MCAT the fall of 2014. So Ill be studying the material pretty intensely for that version of the MCAT.

Here's the problem.

I'm sure Ill want to re take it to try for a higher score, BUT by that time it will be the new 2015 MCAT.

So does this mean Ill basically have to study again, like it's my first time taking the MCAT for 2015. Because then that will be my first time seeing the new version of the test. So then I would want to re take that.

This doesn't seem right. Having to study for 2 different MCATs.

Feedback? Am I missing something?

Your best bet is to prepare yourself well enough for the first one so that you don't have to worry about a retake with the new format. You have plenty of time to establish a good study schedule and to focus on the aamc practice tests. Don't assume you will do poorly on the first one or you will! Just go out and rock it and don't even think about a retake until you have your first score.

I agree with caballoscuro. Focus on this test first. If you are not as successful as you had hoped to be, then re-study for the new test. The new test does have several new sections, but all should be manageable. The new test allows for more time to answer each question which is a huge plus!
