Hot off the press! New edition of the all-important school rankings. With a new and improved methodology that uses hard, objective data like average debt upon graduation, NAPLEX pass rates, Match rates, etc.

20 schools didn't even receive a ranking. There's clearly a shortage of pharmacists to help rank all of these schools.

There is currently little to no advantage to going to a top school (not even better teaching as I just learned!) Going to a school near the bottom of the list may hurt your job and residency prospects. People have speculated that in the future pharmacy may become more like legal school, where if you didn't go to a top school you won't get a job, but this is currently not the case.

I've always said give me the harder worker. However as supply greatly exceeds demand going forward I could definitely see employers only hiring from top schools. This includes retail.

I think this is the first time they revealed their response rates.
Pharmacy was 40%. Three in five deans were too busy to respond or no longer wish to contribute data in support of a flawed metric.

when I graduated my school was average, now our position hasn't changed but we are in the top 3rd - funny how that works

And yet unless you go to a notoriously bad school OR the same school as someone hiring you, no one cares. Except for students that think going to a top-50 school with a deep clinical focus means something.

I love these rankings so much. I'm glad they base these rankings on hard stats like entry GPA, PCAT score, residency acceptance rate, NAPLEX passing rate, MPJE passing rate, job placement, etc.

All the health rankings are based solely on the results of peer assessment surveys sent to deans, other administrators and/or faculty at accredited degree programs or schools in each discipline. All schools surveyed in a discipline were sent the same number of surveys.

Respondents rated the academic quality of programs on a scale of 1 (marginal) to 5 (outstanding). They were instructed to select "don't know" if they did not have enough knowledge to rate a program. Only fully accredited programs in good standing during the survey period are ranked. Those schools with the highest average scores appear in the rankings.
