Submitted June 16 10:59PM, Processed June 20 9:49AM.
Not even 5 days (less than 3 business days).

I submitted a hour after the score came out on Wednesday night. I don't have anything else to say. Just thought I would share that.

I submitted June 14 and was verified June 17. Three total days (though the same as you including the weekend). I am happy I didn't have to go through the wait times everyone talks about!

submitted 6/16 10:37pm, verified 6/20 11:05AM. By the way...my verified AMCAS has some X besides some courses (1-unit research credits that I didin't mark P/F, so they changed it)...does that matter?

I thought if they made any corrections, they would return the application to me, not process it...but they sent my app to the schools anyway🙂

All of my P/F courses, transfer work, and AP credit had an X (as well as my withdrawal... US History, ugh). I think it means they changed some sort of classification for us. You are good to go!

Good luck,

Adam

Hmm, wasn't Wednesday night June 15? Anyway, I submitted on June 16 (Thursday) night, about 25 hours after scores were released, so we'll see when mine gets processed.

Congrats everybody! Here we go.... :luck:

mine was submitted more than a week ago, and it's still in line to be reviewed 🙁 😡

Oh yeah, I wanted to ask -- I assume you get an email when your transcript is processed, right? Or do you have to check on the main page of the actual application?

Tigress, you get an email when your transcript has been received and i'm assuming you get an email when your amcas has been processed

amand0r, your application may be taken longer because they may have found some errors in your app that contradict your transcript. They have to verify everything that is on your app with your transcripts...any mess-up will result in longer wait times.

Yea they send an email. Of course that didn't stop me from logging in and checking the main page anyway 😉

Do they need your transcripts in order to process the AMCAS.
If so, how long does it take to recieve the transcripts?

How could they proccess the application if they don't have the transcripts? 😕

It took between the day of to three days after they recieved my transcript to acknowledge they recieved it. I called ACMAS about this and they said it can take up to two weeks before a database entry is made after recieving a transcript. I doubt it really takes that long, I assume its just some scripted answer they have to tell people.

I read somewhere that AMCAS doesn't send any applications to schools until July 6th. Is this true?

submitted June 16 @ 1:57 AM, processed this morning. This is great guys! I though it would for sure take at least a week or two since I submitted after scores were released. Here we go with the secondaries. Just remember...we're about 80% there!!! Keep chuggin and start working on your interview skills. 😀

I submitted on the 16th about 8am and mine was processed about 11am on the 20th. However, it had some errors in it...basically they neglected to give me gpa credit for about 18 hours of courses...somehow they were just skipped over. I was wondering if anyone has had to submit an academic change request and how long that process takes. Does it get handled right away when they receive it or does the application just get stuck back in line to be processed again?

submitted on june 10th, still waiting in line for review....GRR!!!

Yup - that is true... I called some schools and found out and they all said the same thing - They do not rcv AMCAS applications until the first week of July.

🙁

I have a mistake in mine too. I'm wondering the same thing. If anyone out there knows how the academic change request is handled, please fill us in. I certainly do not want to go back into the dreaded unprocessed pile again. Hopefully they handle us right away and all our work on submitting early doesn't go to waste! It's their fault. We pay them major mula and they don't get it right. Ticks me off!!! 😡

I submitted mine June 4th...finally last week the 'under review' status came up, and it's still under review, apparently. Sheesh.

PROCESSED! At last! Way to go, AMCAS. 17 days.

Dang, I'm happy for you guys. I'll be submitting tonight ;0

And now, the true horror begins!

Did anyone submit his/her application on 6/17 and get verified already?

From previous post, in only takes a couple day to get processed, but why there are some people, it has been more than two weeks and their app haven't processed yet? Does anyone know why????

If you have multiple transcripts and/or errors in your self-reported academic record, it will likely take longer. I sent mine in on the 16th and processing was completed today.

Cheers

I sent mine in on 6/16 at 11 p.m. Not processed yet but I'm hopeful for this week.

I think some people have to take into account whether their transcripts were there yet or not. My transcripts were all received a while ago...

edit: I just realized I posted this info like five times already. Oh well.

So for anybody who is keeping track, my application has been processed. So that's 6/16 at 11 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. this morning.

It is true that schools won't see your application until July 6th at the earliest.

Being processed and verified are two different things. All that I'm about to tell you is what was explained to me by USF COM admissions director here in Tampa, Florida. He also posts on this board as REL

So here it goes.......

As per Rel's comments: Proccessed means that the AAMC people have received your application and everything. Once it is processed, schools choosing to see preliminary data (name, email, address, phone number, etc.) will get to look at your app. and tell you to see whether you meet their reqs for the secondary. If you do, they'll get a secondary to you. However, the verified application generally means that that AMCAS has calculated your gpa and compared your grades against your transcripts. Some schools will wait for this. I'll find the link to Rel's post and post it here for you. I'll also give you what he emailed to me when I emailed him a couple days ago.

REL said:
Ok folks, here's the deal.
1. AMCAS will begin to release data to school as early as July 6.
2. Schools have a choice to receive preliminary data (name, address, emai,
phone number) or verified data. Once you press the "button" to submit,
information will be made available to schools who work from prelim data
within minutes. Schools who want only verified data get noting until
verification has been completed.
3. I prefer to get the prelim to "service the applicant." Once we get the
prelim that you are applying we'll fire out an email telling you to check
our website to ensure that you meet the numerical requirements. If you do,
we ask you to reply and request a secondary. You get a link to our
electronic secondary shortly thereafter (the quickest this exchange has
happened is 6 minutes!! But a few hours is the norm). I want prelim data
so that you can receive the secondary ASAP and use your time wisely rather
than burn the weeks between submission and verification. It's a habit of
mine to get the data moving ---
4. If you tell us that you meet our requirements and request a secondary
application and we get the verified app a few weeks later that shows you
do not meet the requirements, no biggie. After all you did send us the
secondary application fee --- we'll find some way to use it.

I guess this lets you know that some schools react quicker than others
simply by the way they choose to work and what data they choose to work
from.

This is what Mr. Larkin posted under a different thread.

Mr. Larkin,

Hi I have a couple of questions for you about the application
process
(a friend was asking, so I thought I would poise this question to
you).

First off, in regards to the application, what is meant by the message
that says the application has been processed that is given a few days
after you send it in?? I thought processed application takes 4-6 weeks.

Secondly, if someone sends in their app June 1st, and someone sends in
their app June 15th, does this mean the person that sends it in June 1st
would most likely get a secondary a couple weeks before the person that
applied June 15th?? Or would they all get the secondaries at the same time
if their app meets secondary requirements??? --- AMCAS probably has
processed your application, determined it to have all of the critical
material and responded to you that it has been processed. That doesn't
mean that is has been verified. Verification means that transcript data
has been compared with the original transcripts that you submitted and an
AMCAS adjusted GPA has been computed. AMCAS advertised verification to
have been completed from 3-6 weeks from the time they receive all original
transcripts. As for secondaries, AMCAS will not send any applicant data
to schools until after the July 4 holiday. That being true, depending
upon the administrations at each school, it is possible that those who
submit an application to AMCAS on June 1 and June 15 would be offered a
secondary at the same time in July.

Well ok, that's a bit more then 2 questions. But I have just a few more
questions for you. If someone sends in their app now, and gets
secondaries, how long would they be able to wait before filling it out??

This is a concern of some August MCATers who don't want to process it for
fear of being rushed to do secondaries right before the MCAT. Thanks for
all your help. --- Each school has their own specific rules for their
secondary. Most will set an absolute deadline of some date after they the
AMCAS deadline that each program chooses. As for us we close AMCAS on
December 1 and have a secondary deadline of January 15. Of course since
most programs interview from the end of September through sometime in
March, an applicant may be at a disadvantage to wait on completing their
application. For example those taking the August MCAT will have to wait
8-9 weeks for a score. That score will complete their
application and schedule them for review at about 1 November. In most
cases it takes up to two business weeks to finally evaluate a file for
interview decision. Now we are at Nov 15ish. Now if we decide to
absolutely interview a candidate on Nov 15, the earliest we can offer them
an interview would be about 3 weeks later. Counting the holiday, that
would mean a candidate who took the August MCAT could, at best be offered
an interview for the week prior to Christmas if there was such a date
scheduled. Short answer, August MCAT probably means no interview until
January or later if all goes well. Now with all applications probably
completed by Christmas - a huge percentage of applicants are looking for
interviews in the last 10 weeks of the interview season. Of course if you
wait until you receive your August MCAT scores before you begin to turn in
the secondaries and associated documents, this timeline gets much later.
I hope this helps.

The bolded portions is REL's response to my questions about secondaries and application timeline.

guju, processed and verified still mean the same thing. I think REL is talking about preliminary un-processed data vs. processed data. When the ap is processed, GPA is calculated and everything, and AMCAS does nothing more with it other than make it available to schools. Unfortunately I think REL is a bit mistaken (yes, I realize who he is). Anybody who has had their application processed has a completely verified transcript with an AMCAS-calculated GPA and everything. The short time period at this point is because it is still early in the cycle and there aren't as many submitted applications as there will be later.

Yah, I suppose that would make sense. Either way, July 6th is the new day of reckonining for you all. That's the day schools start to see everything and soon after you'll get your secondaries. What you say about being early makes sense too, because when the August MCATers start rolling in, it will indeed take a long time because by then there will by quite a few more thousand people applying.

By the way, I saw your other thread. I would talk to schools of interest about the gpa thing, but don't think it will hurt too much since you have a stellar MCAT.

Should I be concerned that I submitted mine at 6 pm on 6/16 and it's still listed as "ready for review"? (Transcripts were all marked as received before I submitted.) I'm just wondering if their queue has a "fudge-factor" or if I should be making sure everything is working okay.

Thanks.

My application has been sitting under review (verifier is verifying transcripts and grades) for the past 4 days!!! whats there to verify?? i only have 2 transcripts!!! so frustrated!!!! 😡

It's probably a number of factors. If you have many transcripts, it may take longer. I had 3. If you have multiple degrees or post-bac work it also may take longer. I did have a huge number of credits, but they were almost all on one transcript and pretty straightforward. I think another factor is who exactly is reviewing your application. You have to allow for some human variability: some people will take longer than others. Verification is a long and tedious process; can you imagine going through hundreds of transcripts, making sure the course names and numbers and credits and grades match up perfectly? I think both of y'all (above 2 posters) will be processed in the next few days, most likely. If there are problems with your transcripts or errors on the application it may take longer, though.
