HelloGuys, I'am new at this site and need some help. I graduated from U.C.Davis in psychology and did completed all the prerequesite courses for med school. I retook some of the classes and was wondering if anyone knows that if the application service will only look at repeat courses to calculate G.P.A. . I took 1 class of physics and 1 course of O'chem again. If they'll do this then my science gpa will be around 3.2.
Ques 2. what else should I do in order to increase my chances.
ques 3. what is the difference between DDS and DMD.
ques 4. how do I apply for dental schools, is there is any central application process.
Ques5. what is the avg gpa and Dat scores that will get me in. and what are some of the good EC activities.

Get as much exposure to dentistry as possible. Build connections/relationships with admission directors to your prospective schools. Research the schools. Apply early. Take upper level science classes, not just the prerequisites and do well in them (biochem, neurobiology, microbiology, histology, anatomy, physiology, etc.)

There is no difference. They used to be two different philosophies in the earlier days, but now they are the same thing.

Yes, you have to apply first by usinig AADSAS www.adea.org you can apply online or via paper. Applying online is the way to go.

Ques5. what is the avg gpa and Dat scores that will get me in. and what are some of the good EC activities.

With you grades you need to hit at least 19's across the board. A 20 would definately help you. Good EC activities are anything using your hands, show leadership, and make you more rounded and diverse for the dental school.

ALL GRADES WILL BE CALCULATED, INCLUDING YOUR FIRST-TIME GRADES BEFORE YOU RETOOK THEM.

DO WELL ON THE DENTAL ADMISSIONS TEST. AIM FOR A COMPOSITE SCORE OF 20 IN ACADEMICS AND A 20 PERCEPTUAL ABILITY (20/20)

20/20 ON THE DAT WILL INSURE YOU A GOOD LOOK FROM ADMISSION COMMITTEES AT YOUR APPLICATION (THIS NUMBER IS KIND OF EQUIVALENT TO A 30 ON THE MCAT) AND START TO SPEND SOME TIME IN A DENTAL OFFICE SHADOWING DENTISTS OR DENTAL SPECIALISTS.
