New issue when sending letters from Interfolio to AACOMAS!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I just called this morning, and the representative basically said that the issue is still very much up in the air. She recommended that I request all of my letters through the AACOMAS website. This will prove disastrous for me this application cycle as many of my letter writers are EXTREMELY difficult to get ahold of, so I'm definitely crossing my fingers that this is resolved.

The point is, you can very well still send them to each school, directly. We're all complaining because it's freakin expensive and they should've given us a warning a little earlier so applicants can prepare properly.

Oh absolutely. The conversation I had with the representative was very eerie this morning though. They're basically deciding if they want to accept letters from interfolio at all, so hopefully schools will not follow suit if this is the case.

If they're not even going to accept interfolio letter at all, even if we send them directly to each school, I'm going apesh*t.

The only reason I could see them doing this is to keep things standardized with the new questions being added on the AACOMAS site. Keeping my fingers crossed though. The representative took my name and number and is going to call immediately when she knows what's going on by the end of the week hopefully, so I'll post in here ASAP after that call.

Thanks! appreciate it! I'm royally f**ked if they won't accept it. My writers are gone 🙁

Ive been in constant communication with Interfolio and they make it seem like AACOMAS is working on updating LiasionCas (the portal they are storing the letters on) and that it should be done within a week, but the exact date and timeline is uncertain.

Updating in such a way that won't require this supplemental material? I hate to be a pessimist, but I feel like there's really no way of getting past letter writers needing to fill out the supplemental material.

That's what they're making it seem like. We'll probably find out in the next week or so

Well, isn't this a lovely development. A head's up would have been nice.

I also called AACOMAS this morning, and the representative suggested that I have my letter writers submit them through AACOMAS.

The fact that there was no heads up makes it seem like they'll make some sort of work around, but maybe i'm just being optimistic. At least they gave us a heads up about grade replacement I guess?

If you can even consider a few months before the application opening and YEARS after many people committed to retaking many classes over and spending 1000's of dollars doing so solely for the purpose of applying to DO schools a "heads up" lol

From the Interfolio Website:

Important Update: We’re currently unable to submit letters to the AACOMAS application system because of new supplemental questions that have been added as a requirement to the letter upload. We are closely working with AACOMAS to have a solution in place ASAP.

We will be posting any new updates here so please check back.

5/5 Interfolio has reached out to AACOMAS to discuss a solution

5/8 AACOMAS meets with LiaisonCAS to discuss changes to the supplemental questions

5/10 AACOMAS has communicated to Interfolio that this should be resolved by the week of May 22nd

**If you have a deadline in the next couple of weeks, please reach out to AACOMAS support for instructions on how to get your letters submitted. Their contact info is below:

I sure hope it's ready by then, I hate having to wait to get all my materials together.

The issue has been fixed

Interfolio and AACOMAS has resolved the issue. AACOM has added a N/A section to the LOR question regarding time that the writer has known the applicant. Interfolio sent me an email Thursday in regards to this matter.
