Okay so I was just offered this job...as an "injectionists"

basically, I sit around and give shots ALL DAY for an allergy clinic. I've been told that I'm the "gatekeeper" of the clinic and its a very social position but yeah, "we could train a monkey to do it."

The pay is 10/hr..full time (I graduated).

does this sound worth it to you?
why does biology degrees count for so little except for teaching and med school? arg

opinions, please....

10 bucks sounds pretty good. can you tell us a bit more about the clinic....location, affiliations, patient population, etc? you want to do something that youll get paid but that would also help your app. when are you applying?

If you want to become a Dr. it's a great way to increase your clinical knowledge and make your application look a lot better. But if it's a career you're looking for...I'd say screw it..$10/hr is nothing.....i'm getting paid double that to sit on my a$$ all day...im at work right now actually

what do you do!?

Jeebus?.only $10/hour?..we take people off the street with a GED send them to a 12 week class, give them full medical, dental, 401K (entire family included) and pay them $10/hour?..

In TX this might not be all that bad for pay but you've got a friggen degree.....can't you intern at a lab or something? You might do scut work at first but you'll have room to move up..... 👍

P.S. No we aren't hiring right now....

LoL...I've done IT in the past...I love it!! Days and hours go by fast!!

to the op...you have a DEGREE!!!! you should not be getting paid $20,000 a year....

Take your hourly wage and double it and add on 000 and you have a rough estimate of your yearly salary

Use Monster.com....it truly works!

a few tips:

1) when you apply for the job on monster....aggresively contact the employer on your status and show your interest..chances are that they will offer the interview right over the phone....

2) Don't apply to whatever job you see...employers have a record to see which jobs you applied to on monster and if you apply to a whole bunch...they won't take you as seriously

oh yea...and if you live near college station, texas...there are probably a crapload of graduates looking for jobs so your chances are greatly diminished...if you're done with school....move away!! it'll increase your chances because college campuses are saturated with grads

I agree. Bio degrees have like no future paths to build on. I graduated recently in May as well and I can't land anything that pays salary (unless I want to become a teacher 👎 ) But I've been working in Brackenridge Hospital as a Clinical Assistant and I get paid around 12-13/hr. So you are in a good position. I'm mainly doing it for the valuable experience. I think you should take it and build up your background for med school.
