First full day off in about 3 weeks, and I realize pretty much all of my music in my library dates back to the first couple years of med school. I'm pretty much about 3 years out of touch with the music world, so I figured I'd seek out you youngsters for any advice for new bands.

- I love upbeat alternative, rock
- Also like hiphop/rap (but am pretty up to date here)
- I'm not really a fan of mellow indie, electronic music

Inb4 move to lounge... but first here's some of the first category:
- The Classic Crime
- Rise Against
- Saosin
- The Lost Prophets
- Madina Lake
- After Midnight Project
- AFI
- Finch

... those are just a few off the top of my head.

Nice taste.

OP: Though some are older, you might also check out Trust Co.; Senses Fail; Anberlin, Kids in the Way, Falling Up, Dogwood, and Forever Changed (if you like Christian bands); and Matchbook Romance

This is not related to applying to medical school. Please consider the lounge for all your socializing needs.
