Sunrise Health GME Consortium at Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada has just been granted initial accreditation by ACGME for the Psychiatry Residency as of 4/26/19.
We are now on an expedited track to welcome our first class of PGY-1s psychiatry residents to start July 1st, 2019. There are 4 positions open in the PGY-1 class.
We know the match and SOAP have long gone but there are certainly enthusiastic, dedicated prospects still looking for positions out there that may be a good fit for this new program.
While applications will be reviewed for individual merit, competitive applicants will have the following characteristics:
- Less than 2 years since medical school graduation
- Evidence of interest in psychiatry as their primary specialty
- USMLE/COMLEX scores that are at or above the national mean on first attempt
- Ties and propensity to remain in the Southern Nevada area after completion of the program
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit the following documents for consideration:
- Copy of ERAS application
- Board scores transcripts
- LORs
- MSPE
- CV
- Personal Statement
- Medical school transcript
- ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
Foreign graduates must be ECFMG certified and a graduate of a medical school on the approved list of the California Medical Board.
We are unable to sponsor visas.
If you know of any potential, qualified applicants, please feel free to share with them this news and ask them to forward applications materials to me at:

Thank you very much for your time and consideration!
Sincerely,
