I just got my step 2 score today and was fairly happy with the 25 point jump from Step 1. I re-transmitted my USMLE transcript through ERAS, but is there any value to contacting PDs directly to let them know (both at places I've already interviewed/will interview and programs I've not heard from)?

Also, I have already received rejections from one or two programs I was really interested in- any harm in sending an e-mail for reconsideration?

If you don't mind me asking, what date did you take the exam on?
I am still waiting for mine and am wondering when the score will come in.
Thanks.

If you've already interviewed, then I wouldn't. They will be looking for your step 2 score when they rank you so you'll just look like you're bragging (my opinion) and they're going to be sure to see it anyway.

Places you haven't gotten interviews at: I don't think it would hurt to send an email stating you are really interested in the program and then at the end mention that you had a strong step 2.

Places that have rejected you - hey, what do you have to lose?

I took it on 11/6 and received an e-mail saying my score report was viewable online this morning (11/28).
