Given the pass rate that occurred at a pilot hybrid program charging private school tuition, coupled with two year programs gaming the system and tricking students into "getting a job faster," while overcharging, and RC11's solution of only refinancing existing student loans instead of fixing the cost issue, does anyone else not find it appropriate that a committee be formed that tracks historical trends in finances and regulates the training process be proposed? From a financial perspective?

It would monitor trends in reimbursement, cost of living, tuition increases per program, bls/hrsa supply and demand stats, and creation of addendums to accreditation for CAPTE so that if not adhering to specific financial parameters, a program goes on probation unless it demonstrates through spreadsheets, the actual need for its price, outside of supply and demand charges?

New programs would not be allowed to exist if it cannot provide certain projections on debt:income?

Possibly we can have an agreement among programs or facilities for housing students on clinicals?

This is just a thought.....but something that needs attention now, especially if there is a push for more supervised training with an intern and specialty year as the incomes will not be actual market value incomes in the income, just like medical and pharmacy.
